AXA IM Appoints Laurent Clavel as Head of Research

AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) announces the appointment of Laurent Clavel as Head of Research, effective immediately. Laurent was Head of Macroeconomic Research prior to the appointment.
Based in Paris, Laurent Clavel will lead the Research team, comprising of euro credit analysts and macroeconomists. This team develops fundamental research activities, new investment insights and thought leadership, as well as help drive the implementation of research views in AXA IM’s investment processes.
He will report to Gilles Moëc, who will become Chief Economist of the AXA Group on June 3, 2019.
Biography
About Laurent Clavel
Laurent Clavel joined AXA IM in 2015 as International Economist, before becoming Head of Macroeconomic Research. Prior to AXA IM, he worked for two years at the French Statistical Institute (INSEE) as the Head of the Forecasting Unit. Before this, Laurent spent three years at the French Embassy in Stockholm, where he covered the Nordic economies in his role as financial adviser to the French Treasury. He also also worked for the French Ministry for the Budget and the French Statistical Institute.
Laurent graduated from Ecole Polytechnique, holds an MSc in economics from Paris School of Economics, Statistics and Finance (ENSAE Paris Tech).
